DisCat 2.0
DisCat was designed to catalogue all types of CD data. It scans and stores a virtual image of each CD or DVD in your collection, and it doesn\'t matter if the CD is comprised of photographs, images, music, text, software, e-books, audiobooks, films, or some mixture thereof. DisCat will display all the directories and files on any removable disk. This software is so good at what it does that it really appears as though the original CD is in the drive-- even though it is sitting on the shelf. DisCat\'s central catalog/library system can have thousands of such virtual CD\'s.
DisCat allows you to create various organizational folders, i.e. films, music, games, software etc., so that you can store each CD type in the appropriate folder. You can also use search AND full-text search for locating text files (this includes searching text within zipped text files). Thus, it is very easy to find any specific data even if it is a small file lost among 1000 CD’s. And incredibly, 1000 CD’s of mixed data takes up approximately 200MB (or even less) on your hard drive.
A growing pile of CD\'s does not go away; in fact, the pile gradually gets bigger. We at Genutronics noticed this unpleasantly Malthusian fact about data, and created an elegant solution: DisCat-- the perfect software for scanning every type of data on every type of removable disk. Need some help with those CD’s?
